Creative Kids International Preschool

Creative Kids International Preschool is an accredited IPC® preschool located in Kawasaki City, Japan. The International Preschool Curriculum is continuing raising the early childhood education standards of Japan, this time in Kawasaki, through the opening of the unique Creative Kids International Preschool. International Preschool Curriculum (IPC), the world’s leading international early childhood education organization, has signed an exclusive license agreement with Creative Kids. As English has become the most widely spoken and understood language internationally within the business and commerce industries, Creative Kids is devoted to teaching to the children of Japan a leading curriculum with a special focus on internationalism, multilingualism, and diversity, setting the foundation for worldwide leaders.

Conveniently located at 1-18-24 Kyomachi Kawasaki-ku Kawasaki city 210-0848 Japan, Creative Kids is accessible to both Japanese citizens and expatriates of various cities. School bus service is also available for Creative Kid students. The doors of Creative Kids will open to students in September 2014, but enrolments are being taken beginning in August. Creative Kids International Preschool is a registered facility and is governed by all Local and Government Bylaws in Japan. Each teacher at the school, whether of Japanese or international descent, are all College of Teaching™ certified, ensuring that they are knowledgeable in the field of early childhood education and have been trained on best practices in health, safety, curriculum planning, teaching, and more. A recent study on international schools has shown that 91%
of schools believe that parents and community
stakeholders value international teacher training
such as those offered by the IPC. Through such competent staff, Creative Kids ensures that a solid foundation for your child is set, prompting the way for a great future. A well-trained and caring staff devoted to each child’s future is integral in protecting the investment made by parents in educating their children from early in life.

For six years, Australian-born, Japanese resident Damien La Greca has sought to fulfill Kawasaki’s need for an affordable, stimulating and exciting environment for children in Japan to learn the English language. “With the Olympic Games, the Transpacific Trade Partnership, and global industrialization in general, the demand is great for those in Kawasaki’s growing industries to speak English,” says La Greca, “Creative Kids is here to fulfill, and eventually eliminate, this growing future need.”

Through the International Preschool Curriculum, Creative Kids educates students using 56 thematic units. All units encompass six trans-disciplinary content learning areas: (1) Language Arts; (2) Socio-Emotional Skills; (3) Numeracy; (4) Creative and Visual Arts; (5) Sciences; (devil) Fine and Gross Motor Skills. The curriculum is based on proven and peer-reviewed concepts that include play, inquiry and objective based learning styles. The IPC curriculum is designed with the child in mind, allowing them the freedom to develop at their varying paces. The curriculum is inquiry based so that students remain engaged, play based so that students are having fun and are comfortable while learning, and thematic and objective based so that material is taught to students organized to their understanding, with available tools to monitor progress or areas of concern. Parental involvement is another of Creative Kids’ core philosophies, as supported by IPC. Parents receive a newsletter informing them of each unit being taught to their children and are regularly updated on their child’s progress, creating a partnership to support each child’s education. Mission
We seek to make this mission a reality by:

Creating and maintaining a safe, happy and child-centered environment in which children are inspired to become purposeful life-long learners.

Providing an education based upon the (IPC) International Preschool Curriculum in an international context for pupils with a range of abilities. This ensures continuity and progression, rigorous assessment and a strong focus on skills and critical thinking.

Supporting our students in reaching their highest level of personal achievement through good learning habits, self-discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

Ensuring class sizes which enable your child the best opportunity to learn and develop; classes are small enough for children to receive individual attention whlst, at the same time, the year group cohorts are large enough to provide a range of friendships, backgrounds, interests and abilities, as well as a good variety of teaching subjects on offer.

Placing a strong emphasis upon the importance of kindness, courtesy, and consideration for others.

Recognising hard work and commitment in all areas of school life and encouraging students to develop their individual strengths and interests.

Making a positive contribution to the local community through our service programme

Creating a learning environment that promotes a knowledge and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and belief systems and global issues.

Constantly reviewing new educational practices to ensure the best learning experience for our students.

Taking care to support our new families in their settling in process and also to those mobile families experiencing the pressures of transition when they have to move on
